PAUL GATEHOUSE
ASSOCIATE SOUND DESIGNER
Paul Gatehouse began his career in theatre as a sound mixer at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth, moving to the West End to work on productions including Miss Saigon (Cameron Mackintosh, Theatre Royal, Drury Lane), The Lion King (Disney, Lyceum) and Saturday Night Fever (Robert Stigwood, UK tour). His career progressed to assistant and then associate sound designer, working in collaboration with Olivier Award-winning designer Mick Potter.
Recent productions include: Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Woman in White (London and Broadway), The Sound of Music (London, Toronto and UK tour), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Adelphi), Saturday Night Fever (Apollo Victoria, Madrid Teatro Coliseum and UK tours), Zorro – The Musical (Garrick, Paris Folies Bergère), Scrooge – The Musical (UK tours), Der Schuh des Manitu (Theater des Westens, Berlin), Ich War Noch Niemals in New York (Hamburg Operettenhaus and Stuttgart Coliseum), Hair (Gate), Whistle Down the Wind (Palace), Starlight Express (UK tours), The Phantom of the Opera (recent London and Broadway sound re-designs), Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular (Venetian, Las Vegas), Sister Act (London Palladium), the new Cameron Mackintosh 25th anniversary production of Les Misérables (international tour, Madrid, USA 1st national tour) and Love Never Dies (Adelphi). Paul recently associate designed and mixed the 25th anniversary concert of Les Misérables (O2 Arena).
Future projects include: Cameron Mackintosh’s new musical Betty Blue Eyes and Love Never Dies (Melbourne).
